Responsible Gambling Policy

At Orvellan Royal Crest, we believe that gambling should always be an enjoyable and entertaining experience. This Responsible Gambling Policy has been prepared by , located at 220 Bay Street, Suite 1800, Toronto, ON M5J 2W4, Canada, to help our guests make informed decisions and to ensure that the wellbeing of every individual remains our highest priority.

Our Commitment

We are deeply committed to promoting responsible gambling practices across all areas of our casino floor and gaming facilities. We understand that while most of our guests gamble for fun and recreation, some individuals may find it difficult to maintain control over their gambling habits. We take this responsibility seriously.

Our commitment includes:

  • Providing a safe, fair, and transparent gaming environment for all guests.
  • Training our staff to recognize signs of problem gambling and to respond with compassion and sensitivity.
  • Making responsible gambling resources and tools easily accessible to every guest.
  • Cooperating fully with provincial and national regulatory frameworks to uphold the highest standards of player protection.
  • Continuously reviewing and improving our responsible gambling practices based on current research and best practices.

Gambling is entertainment. We want you to enjoy your experience at Orvellan Royal Crest — and we are here to support you every step of the way if you ever feel that gambling is no longer fun.

18+ Age Policy — No Minors Permitted

Participation in any form of gambling at Orvellan Royal Crest is strictly restricted to individuals who are 18 years of age or older. This is both a legal requirement under Ontario and Canadian law, and a core ethical principle of our establishment.

To uphold this policy, we take the following measures:

  • All guests entering the casino floor may be asked to provide valid government-issued photo identification to verify their age before being permitted access.
  • Acceptable forms of identification include a passport, driver's licence, provincial photo ID card, or any other government-issued document that clearly shows the holder's date of birth and photograph.
  • Any individual who is unable to provide satisfactory proof of age will be denied access to the gaming areas without exception.
  • Our staff are trained to challenge anyone who appears to be under the age of 25, in accordance with our Challenge 25 approach.
  • We do not permit minors in our gaming areas at any time, regardless of whether they are accompanied by an adult.

If you have concerns about a young person accessing our gaming facilities, please speak with a member of our security or hospitality team immediately. Your concern will be treated with complete discretion.

Recognizing the Signs of Problem Gambling

Problem gambling can affect anyone, regardless of age, background, or financial situation. It does not develop overnight, and it is not a sign of weakness or moral failure. Recognizing the warning signs early can make a significant difference in a person's ability to seek help and regain control.

You may be experiencing problem gambling if you notice any of the following in yourself:

  • Spending more money or time gambling than you originally intended.
  • Feeling a strong urge or compulsion to gamble, even when you do not want to.
  • Chasing losses — gambling to try to win back money you have already lost.
  • Feeling restless, irritable, or anxious when you try to cut down or stop gambling.
  • Neglecting work, family, or social responsibilities because of gambling.
  • Borrowing money, selling possessions, or using funds meant for essential expenses such as rent or food in order to gamble.
  • Lying to family members, friends, or colleagues about how much time or money you spend gambling.
  • Gambling as a way to escape stress, anxiety, depression, or other difficult emotions.
  • Feeling guilt, shame, or regret after gambling, yet continuing to do so.
  • Repeated unsuccessful attempts to cut back or stop gambling on your own.

You may also be concerned about someone you care about. Signs that a friend or family member may have a gambling problem include:

  • Unexplained financial difficulties, including frequently borrowing money.
  • Becoming secretive or evasive about their whereabouts or finances.
  • A noticeable change in mood, behaviour, or personality.
  • Neglecting family, work, or social commitments without clear explanation.
  • Spending long, unexplained periods of time away from home.

If any of these signs feel familiar — whether they apply to you or to someone you love — please know that help is available, and you are not alone. Our team is here to support you, and there are many professional resources ready to assist.

Self-Exclusion and Responsible Gambling Tools

We offer a range of practical tools to help you stay in control of your gambling. These tools are available to all guests and can be set up confidentially and without judgment.

Self-Exclusion Programme

Self-exclusion is a voluntary agreement between you and Orvellan Royal Crest in which you request to be barred from entering the casino and participating in any gambling activities for a defined period of time. This is a powerful and effective tool for anyone who feels they need a break or who is concerned about their gambling behaviour.

  • Self-exclusion periods are available for a minimum of six months and can be extended indefinitely upon request.
  • During the exclusion period, you will not be permitted to enter the gaming floor, and you will be removed from all promotional communications related to gambling.
  • To initiate a self-exclusion request, please speak privately with a member of our Guest Relations or Responsible Gambling team. We will treat your request with the utmost care and confidentiality.
  • Ontario residents may also register for province-wide self-exclusion through the Ontario Self-Exclusion Programme administered by iGaming Ontario and the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO).

Deposit and Spending Limits

We encourage all guests to set personal financial limits before they begin gambling. Deciding in advance how much money you are willing to spend — and sticking to that amount — is one of the most effective responsible gambling strategies available.

  • Please speak with our cashier or Guest Relations team about the options available to help you manage your spending on the casino floor.
  • Never gamble with money that you cannot afford to lose.

Time Limits and Regular Breaks

It is easy to lose track of time in a casino environment. We encourage all guests to take regular breaks, set time limits for their gambling sessions, and step away from gaming to eat, rest, and reflect.

  • Our staff are always available to assist if you feel overwhelmed or need a moment of support.
  • Clocks and natural light cues are available throughout the property to help you maintain an awareness of time.

Reality Checks

We encourage you to stay honest with yourself throughout your visit. Ask yourself regularly: "Am I still having fun? Am I within my budget? Am I making decisions I feel good about?" If the answer to any of these questions is no, it may be time to step away.

Cooling-Off Periods

If you feel you need a short break but are not ready to commit to a full self-exclusion, you may request a temporary cooling-off period. Please speak with a member of our team in confidence, and we will help you explore the options that best suit your situation.

Support and Helpline Numbers

If you or someone you know is struggling with gambling, please reach out for help. Support is available around the clock, and speaking with a trained counsellor can be the first and most important step toward recovery. All of the following services are free, confidential, and non-judgmental.
